Randy Scott Slavin is an award-winning director, Emmy-nominated aerial cinematographer, and the founder of the New York City Drone Film Festival. His short films have earned numerous accolades, including a Special Jury Award at SXSW.

As a director, Slavin has created work for global brands such as Porsche, Bridgestone, Lancôme, Peloton, American Express, AT&T, Bank of America, and the Tribeca Film Festival, as well as music artists including Post Malone, Shakira, and Jungkook—collectively amassing billions of views worldwide.

In 2014, he founded the New York City Drone Film Festival—the first event in the world dedicated exclusively to celebrating drone cinematography. The festival quickly grew into a major industry event, attracting headline sponsors like Samsung, RED, GE, NBC News, Adobe, and DJI. Its programming includes a dynamic slate of screenings, interactive panels, and the “Day of Drones” at Liberty Science Center, drawing thousands of attendees and generating hundreds of millions of media impressions globally. In early 2020, the festival was acquired by drone film platform AirVuz.

As a surrealist photographer, Slavin’s work regularly appears in Time Magazine, The Washington Post, Fast Company Design, Gizmodo, Mashable, and other publications around the world.

He lives in New York with his wife and young daughter.
